Who else would like to help me out
Try out the new Deverra PDF Booklet Plans...
I'm testing a new plan format and I need your help making it better. Basically I am reformating some
of our plans into letter sized booklet form and including a way for you to make your own floor plan
changes quickly and easily.
You are really the only one who can tell me what would make your life easier when customizing a design...
so I thought I woud ask for your help, and at the same time offer you some kind of reward for your ideas.
I want to reward you.
I was thinking that it might be nice to give away a PDF set of plans to everyone who offers suggestions and
comments on how to improve the Booklet Plans. Then I thought maybe I should let all those that help pick
any plan from our catalog that they wanted. Well, after some more thought... here's what I'm going to do...

Here's how it works.
It will be very simple. When you order the Deverra Booklet Plans, you will get a confirmation email
with an order ID number. Simply reply to that email (or send an email with the order ID number) and
tell me what plan you want. I'll get it together and email you the PDF plan you choose. You will have to give us a
few days to get it together since I am expecting that we might be swamped with requests.
What are Booklet Plans?
Booklet Plans are building plans that have been formatted to letter size paper and are presented as a PDF "booklet" instead
of a stapled set of larger format drawings. This format has several real advantages over the large page-size drawings:
You will get a Full Construction Set of drawings, and two other drawing versions:

The Full Consrtuction Set:
These drawings are identical to the large format 18" x 24" paper drawings. they just have been formatted to
letter sized paper. All the information is the same... all the plans, elevations, sections, details, specifications ... all the same.
They can be used to build the cottage or as a guide to design your own floor plan. Which brings me to the next version.
Do not purchase from that page... it will be for the large set of plans.
This set is almost identical to the full construction drawings, but without any interior work... just the shell of the cabin.
Why this?... It allows you to make floor plan changes or even custom floor plans... effectively creating your own custom
cabin based on a "Done-for-You" structural shell. Since all the interior walls are non load-bearing, you can locate walls, doors, rooms, etc.
where you would like without concern about the structure. You can use these drawings to build just the shell and then finish off the interiors
in the field as you wish. You can also use these drawings to draw in your own floor plan, and by using the full construction set as a guide,
you can effectively have a custom set of construction drawings.
This set is essentially the first 9 sheets of the Cabin Shell Construction set except that it has fewer notes and dimensions,
has a graph paper grid on the floor plans and is printed in a very light blue. This set is where you work out and sketch your
own floor plan layout and make all the changes you want to make. The light blue lines (if you print it out in color) will not copy
very well (if at all). All that will be left are your drawings when copied. Add your floor plans to the shell set and you have a
custom plan, suited just to you.
Several yeas ago I was asked as a voulnteer to design a small playhouse that would be built and sold at auction
to raise money for the maternity section of the local hospital. With the help of a generous builder and lumber
supplier, we were able to design, build and dontate a playhouse to the hospital auction.
This design is an adult sized version of that little playhouse, which was formally our Micro-Cottage Ct-103.
I have decided to give it a new plan number #Ct-524 which is reflective of the total area...
a scheme we have been using for our other plans as well.
I've also changed the name to Deverra because of the hospital maternity section the original playhouse had helped. You see...
Deverra was a Roman Goddess who protected midwives and women in labor during pregnancy... the Goddesss of the maternity
section so-to-speak.
